Do you have a Unity Candle for your wedding ceremony? Here at Wedding Unity Candles, we will make a candle especially for your wedding celebration. We have been carving candles since 1976 and have specialized in wedding candles since 1987. We have many popular wedding colors available. If you don't see your wedding colors, please ask if we can make a candle in the color you have chosen for your wedding day.

The Unity Candle Ceremony has been used since the middle 1970's when couples began to personalize their wedding ceremonies and write their own wedding vows. One of the outcomes of that time, was a modern way of bringing the hearth fires from two families to one place. The unity candle ceremony then became the symbol of the unity of two families and two individuals joining their lives as one. The two side candles represent each of your families and are lit before the unity ceremony, often by the mother of the bride and the mother of the groom. Many times we have been asked to create Mother's Candles or additional taper candles for children from previous marriages so that the children may participate in the wedding ceremony. After repeating your wedding vows, you each take a side taper and together light the center candle. This signifies the unity of both families and the start of your new life together.

Later the unity candle can become a focal point in your home, to be relit each year on your anniversary, perhaps as you repeat your wedding vows.

Some couples choose to perform the Unity Candle ceremony during their reception after the cutting of the Wedding Cake.
